Who needs a tax audit?
A tax audit under Section 44AB is required when business turnover or professional receipts exceed the limits set in the Income Tax Act, and in certain other cases. We check whether it applies to you.
Is a statutory audit compulsory for a private limited company?
Yes. Every company registered under the Companies Act must have its accounts audited every year, whatever its turnover.
How long does an audit take?
It depends on the size of the business and the state of the books. Well-maintained records make the audit much faster.
Do NGOs and trusts need an audit?
Most registered trusts and NGOs claiming exemption need their accounts audited and must file the audit report on time to keep the benefit.
